No-Charge Subscriber Support
For Quick Answer subscribers, we answer
Q&A questions in the newsletter's monthly @Help column. Questions
submitted for publication must conform to the following rules:
You can submit your question by email, fax, or letter. (See bottom of page.) If you don't subscribe, you can subscribe now for as low as $89 per year and submit your Q&A question for the @Help column at the same time. Questions are normally answered by return email or a phone call within a few days as well as published in the next available issue. As long as your subscription is active, you may submit up to one question per month. For our Q&A data and document conversion services, click here. |
| The solution you need might have
already been published. . . . Use our Topic and Back Issue indexes (or Search TJ's Quick Answer (Q&A 5.0) Index Database) to locate tips and articles that have appeared in The Quick Answer newsletter over the years. There's a wealth of Q&A information in these back issues (we've been publishing the newsletter since 1990) and chances are you'll find what you need. All back issues are available for purchase. |
Paid Technical Assistance
| We also provide Q&A technical support on a paid
basis. We can help you with basic Q&A questions like "How do I do so and so?" as well as complex database application and programming questions. We can debug your programming. We can provide advice on how best to approach a database design or custom report, or help you create a complete Q&A application from scratch, including any programming you need. (See the note at end of this page for the types of problems we generally do not handle.) We have a broad range of expertise from working intimately with Q&A since 1985 and publishing The Quick Answer newsletter since 1990. Our rate is $80 per hour with an $80 initial charge. (Any unused minutes will remain in your account for use at any future date.) If you would like to schedule a telephone consultation, set up a technical support account, or talk to us about designing or converting a Q&A application for you, call us at 949-722-9127. |

| Note: We do not
generally provide troubleshooting support for network-related issues, database
corruption problems, password removal, or Q&A Error Codes and Messages. For
network issues, we recommend you contact PCTA (www.pcta-usa.com) or Nexus Unlimited (www.nexusunlimited.com) for paid support. See our
Consultants page for more information on these companies. For
database corruption problems, please see How to Recognize, Repair,
and Prevent Database Corruption at this Web site. PCTA (www.pcta-usa.com) and John Dow (www.johntdow.com) have tools and the expertise for
repairing database corruption problems and removing passwords. (Symantec no longer
performs database repair and password removal. The company has ceased all technical
support for Q&A.) For Q&A for DOS Error Codes and Error messages, we have an Error Codes file you can download (Freebies
page) that tells what the most common codes mean and in some cases what you can do
about them. Please do not call or write to us asking what to do about Q&A
Error Codes and Error messages. Our
